Appalachian Dulcimer Heritage Day - May 2 at the Appalachian Dulcimer Museum in beautiful Sperryville Va.
Tentative schedule:
Museum opens at 12:30
Curator Talk/Museum Tour-John Hallberg 1:30-2:15.
Folklorist and Historian Kendra Ward talks about Galax style, playing with quills and her family connections to the dulcimer 2:30-3:15.
Historian/Collector Ken Longfield with talk about various aspects of dulcimer history from 3:30-4.
Historian/Collector Case Keatley will bring several instruments to compare with those in the museum 4:00-4:30.
Historian/Collector Terry Conners will also bring antique dulcimers for discussion and comparison 4:30-5.
*also special dulcimer guests!
Jamming/playing is encouraged during the day!
